This is what fell off the bottom of my car last Friday,
while I was 250 miles away from home. Do
you know what it is?
That thing that is partially hanging down - guess what it is. |
Still Life with Car Part and Kindle |
Well, actually, it partially fell off, and was making a
scraping noise when I drove the car around at the Old Folks’ Home. Very early the next morning my brother got up
and removed it from the car completely.
When I got up at 7:30 a.m., I found it on the back of the toilet tank in
the bathroom where we were all staying.
More on this in a few days.
Right now I’m still recovering from my aunt’s birthday party, which was
a success, a visit from my son so he could find a paying summer job, which was
not a success, and sending Younger Daughter off on the band trip. Right at this very moment (Thursday at 6 p.m.)
the band is marching in the parade.

Listen to me - I sound like Miss Auto Mechanic 2014 up there.
Let me be the first to say it: Suburban Correspondent is totally showing off.
And she's probably right.
What a rotten thing to have happen while on the road.
I have never even looked at the underside of a car. In fact, when the oil-change guys come out to show me some filter that needs changing? They could totally be fooling me --I wouldn't have a clue :-)
Looks like the carapace of a metallic bug. I'm such a greaser.
