Unreally Smart

A few weeks ago that esteemed publication, Parade Magazine, asked us to list the five smartest fictional characters ever.  Younger Daughter and I took the assignment seriously and made our lists as we had our lunch.

We took ‘fiction’ to mean books, movies, and TV.  Our two lists had no overlap.

Who is the smartest fictional character you can think of?  Now is your chance to add to the list.  There are no right or wrong answers!

I will reveal our answers in another post.  And that post can be found here.

Smart but non-fictional.

Sherlock, of course, and Hercule Poirot, Armand Gamache, Elizabeth Bennett, Professor Dumbledore come to mind.

I very much approve of Melissa's list. Sherlock was my first thought :-)

Sherlock, of course. Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory is bright, as are Leonard and Amy and 3/4 of the cast. Edmond Dantes (Count of Monte Cristo) was pretty dang smart. Lisbeth Salander from Stieg Larsson's books. Those are the ones I can think of right now...

AAAAAACK. You should be a professional question-asker. That's a thing, right? I feel like you ask the most torturous questions, ones that make me pace my house, mumbling under my breath. First of all, I'm a little late reading this post, so I did read your reveal post before this one, but I suppose I'd have to say... oh jeez. Let's go with Atticus Finch, Albus Dumbledore, Hermione Granger, Aslan, and The Doctor. I would also like to put forth the suggestion that you do a whole series of posts where you ask impossible questions about culinary intelligence, wisdom vs IQ, etc.
